Exercising with type 2 diabetes: your muscles are your biggest sugar store

Frequently asked questions

How often do new articles appear on this blog?
New articles appear on the Infinite Health blog roughly once a month, and they are written in Dutch as well as English. The subjects are strength training after 40, training through perimenopause and menopause, and building routines that keep working on busy days and on days when motivation is low. Want to be sure you do not miss one? Follow @infinitehealthpt on Instagram →, where new articles are announced first. The topics do not come from a content calendar that sits apart from the work. They come from questions and conversations that genuinely keep returning during sessions with clients. That makes the articles practical and usable, instead of the general fitness tips you find everywhere online. Each article covers one concrete subject in depth, with a direct answer and the background behind it, rather than a shallow list of tips. Would you rather see every article at once? Scroll further down this page for the full overview.
Who writes the articles on this blog?
Every article on this blog is written by Remko Opdam, founder and personal trainer at Infinite Health in Haarlem, with ten years of experience as a coach. He is a certified T.O.P. Trainer A and certified in Mylogenics Activation, Release & Rehab with Overload Worldwide, and he specialises in training people over 40 and women going through the menopause. The articles grow out of conversations and sessions with his own clients, not out of general fitness advice found online. He is equally honest about what does not work, and about the moments when coaching is not what you need, instead of writing only to sell his own services. If you want to know more about his background and qualifications, you will find that on the page about Remko, including his certifications with Overload Worldwide. That page also explains where he trains and how to book a free intake with no obligation.

Are these articles useful if I do not train at Infinite Health?
Yes. The articles are written to stand on their own, even if you never book a session with me. Each one ends with something concrete you can apply yourself, such as what to watch for in a squat or how to build a training rhythm that does not depend on motivation. That is a deliberate choice. I do not write to prove that you need coaching, I write to explain how something works. One of the articles even sets out plainly when a personal trainer is not a sensible investment. What an article cannot do is look at your body and your situation. For a general question, reading is enough. If you have been carrying the same complaint or the same pattern for a while, a conversation will do more for you than another article. At the bottom of every article you will find the sources the health claims rest on, so you can check for yourself what something is based on.
